General Atomics Foam Shell Flow Culling Station (Team of 6) 10/2024–Present
- Optimized hopper shape design using MATLAB & ANSYS discrete-element simulations to achieve desired granular flow
- Designed and 3D printed motorized Geneva drive to control dispensing of shells without plastic deformation or rupture
- Iterated and risk-reduced hopper and timing components to refine fluid flow control and eliminate clogging
- Facilitated integration of independent components and construction of culling station
Butterfly Deformation 06/2023–07/2023
- Modeled “butterfly” deformation of carbon steel fire pit using SolidWorks FEA to simulate thermal load
- Calculated internal stress and strain of fire pit to corroborate results from thermal simulation
- Produced research report on creep behavior and grain structure of steel to illustrate material behavior

- Collaborated with Director, managers, and consultants to conduct cost-benefit analyses for UCSD decarbonization study
